I began my first career in Washington, DC as a location manager on TV shows and movies in 1991. My first movie was Oliver Stone’s JFK, future work included Forrest Gump, The American President and The Firm. Later, I became a Producer and worked on Transformers, The West Wing, 24, Homeland, Armageddon and more. During this same time my husband (who was a federal agent) and I bought townhomes in Fells Point,Baltimore and would go up every chance we could to renovate them. We also renovated 4 homes in Northern Virginia.
In 2010 we moved to Lewes fulltime- I decided the drive back and forth for work was going to be too much. By 2014 we had renovated 2 homes in the historic district of Lewes and were starting on our third when I decided to start Coastal CottageRenovations. I was tired of working with builders who worked extremely slow, made excuses as to why work wasn’t being done and would make decisions without consulting me. After handling the logistics of being a producer for 25 years, I knew I could do it better.
